Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born August 25, 1949) is an American television chef and host. She was also an instructor for the Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her trademark spiky blond tresses and an energised persona on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, provides straightforward and simple methods for cooks at home. The chef Burrell is also a veteran of New York City's best restaurants. She also has learned about Italy's food traditions and the culture of Italy, along with the natural environment. Burrell, who grew up living in New York State's Upstate, developed an early passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stage for her when she earned the Bachelor of Arts in English and Communication in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a wonderful experience for me. Culinary Institute of America was a great place to study. Following graduation, Burrell spent one year in Italy studying at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. It was during this time that her experience in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate Italian tradition and philosophy, and has made an impression on her culinary perspective. Burrell is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of kids who struggle. Burrell is also a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation celebrity advocate where she raises awareness about the condition of children with diabetes. She talks about her culinary passion and shares her experiences in the food world, as she regularly is in the United States for both her roles as speaker and mentor. Anne said she felt lucky that I could be able to share her passion for cooking with the people around her.
